If an alien were to land on Earth and you had to explain what Comedy Central was, what would you show it?
• If you were to describe it as a person, how would you describe it? Why?
• What kind of clothes would Comedy Central wear?

NEW ASSIGNMENT ONE: If you could hang with a cast...

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all of your responses so far. We are enjoying learning all about you.

We actually decided to change Assignment One to something a little different. Please see below. Jillian - I saw that you have already posted a response for the other one. So don't worry about answering this (unless of course you want to, I won't hold you back!).

If you could spend the afternoon with the cast of one show, which one would it be and why?
• Is this cast appealing to you because you think they would be your friends?
• Where would you go with them? A baseball game? A movie? Would you just hang out at your house and play video games?
• What do you think those people would be like? Do you think they would be funny? Do you think they would be friendly? Do you think they would be outrageous?
• If you were to go out to lunch or dinner, where would you take them? Why do you think they would (or would not) like that particular spot?
• How do you envision hanging out with them? Would they still be in character?
• How would that character treat you? How would that character treat those around you? Your best friend? Your parents? Your teacher?
• How would that actor treat you? Your best friend? Your parents? Your teacher?

Hi, my name is Gary Herald. I was born and raised in Northern Kentucky just across the river from Cincinnati, OH. I currently live in a 2 bedroom condo in Highland Heights, KY. I live alone but have a 3 year old Boxer and a cat to keep me company. My dog, Sophie, is a 50 lb lap dog that follows me around like a shadow.

I work for an IT company in Mason, OH. I started working there when I was 18 years old and fresh out of High School. I'm now 30 years old and still there. I go back and forth about whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. :-) I recently (meaning yesterday) started taking classes at the University of Phoenix Online. So far so good!

I think I have a pretty good sense of humor and really enjoy laughing. Its a great way to relieve stress. I enjoy watching Comedy Central for just that reason. Some of my favorite shows include South Park, The Daily Show and the various movies. The comedians are always entertaining as well.

Hi there all... My name is Mike and I'm a native Cincinnatian give or take a few diversions. I love my baseball, my football and well, heck.... my kids when they're not testing my patience, my resolve and my ability to multi-task on the fly. Is it just me or when we were kids we rode bikes around the neighborhood, maybe watched a little Spiderman and the Brady Bunch after school, did our homework and then went to bed? Sighhhhhhhh.....simpler days. Is it any wonder I don't need a little comedy in my life. If there was a Mony Python channel I'd get it but until then I love me my South Park, my Robot Chicken and Daily Show, best show outside the CC network - Family Guy and Corner Gas is just a wonderful little gem of a show, great characters!
My definition of irony. Getting my parent's 2 ft. tall Rodin, The Thinker, sculture which sat on their "console stereo" system for 40 plus years, setting it on my shelf only to have the shelf break two minutes later. Can you say "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" That God, whatta joker.... So here I am on Ebay ten minutes later looking to try and replace it with something bigger than the paperweights I see before me. UGHHHH!!! I refuse to bow down to life's twists and turns!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!

My name is Carrie and I am currently a stay at home mom.  I reside in the burbs of Cincinnati.  Lets see a little about me.  I graduated from U of Maryland with a Masters in Economics and worked for P&G until we moved to Cincinnati.  Living here is by far the least expensive place we have ever been and it allowed me to stay home with my son.  I teach an adult finance class every Tuesday. I love to travel and have seen most of Europe and the US.  My husband was military and we were stationed in Italy for 4 years.  My sense of humor is very sarcastic and I love South Park and the Daily Show.  We love to have parties with our friends and most weekends you can find us grilling and hanging out around the hot tub in the back yard.  I love any kind of music and enjoy reading people like David Sardis and Tom Robbins.  Half asleep in frog pajamas is one of my favorites.  Below is something I think is hilariously funny but you might not get it if you are  not from the Cincinnati area.

Intro

Hello, My name is Jillian Daniel. Feel free to call me Jill, everyone does.

I live and work in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a customer service rep (aka CSR) for a medical equipment provider. I love the medical industry because I get see and hear the most unusual stories. I hope to be going back to school this fall for Respiratory Therapy.

I love spending time with my family and friends. When we get together we tend to drink too much and act like fools, but we always have a good time and laugh about it the next day.

I love humor in my life and thats why I like to watch Comedy Central. If I don't get enough laughter in my life, I get cranky. Watching Comedy Central also gives me some ideas for jokes or stories to tell to my coworkers the next day.

Hi everyone, my name is McKay and I'll be posting assignments and asking questions.

I'll go first in introducing myself and telling you all a little bit about me.

I work for an advertising and research for a company in NYC. I love my job because I get to spend all day learning about different types of people and what they love in their lives.

I live in Manhattan with 2 roommates. They are my friends from college. I'm a huge sports fan and try to get together with friends after work. I also love to check out new bars and restaurants in the city.

I like watching Comedy Central because it always makes me laugh, and totally helps me relax after work. Plus, I love talking about some of the shows with my friends the next day.

Since I work in advertising, I decide to include a link to this commercial which I think is great because I love sports and I think it's a cool way to capture the competitiveness that I love.
